Puttluck was developed by Tecmark for Steve McGuinness. Steve is a PGA professional golfer and co-founder of Mobile Golf Games Ltd.

This unique game takes advantage of the latest mobile technology, with a Wii-style motion-control system built around the iPhone 4’s gyroscope.

We wanted to produce something that gave users a different experience to the existing touchscreen-based golf apps on the market, and created a game where you simply swing the handset to control the movement of your putter.

Although Puttluck was never aimed solely at serious golfers, we wanted it to feel as realistic as possible, and spent over a year developing the game and the advanced physics engine which powers it. The result was intuitive, physical gameplay that appealed to a broad demographic.

The game incorporates 9 real holes from some of the world’s most famous courses, and can be played on 3 levels of difficulty in either arcade or tournament mode. It also features live leader boards where players can compare their scores, and competitions running on the Puttluck website.

Golf grip supplier Black Widow came on board as launch sponsors. Their branding is integrated into the game, and they provided £500 worth of prizes for Puttluck tournaments.
