Criminal Defence in a conspiracy to supply Class A drugs case resulting in acquittal: R-v-C & Others
24/06/2009
Criminal defence solicitors from David Phillips and Partners represented C in proceedings in which he was accused of conspiring to import and supply heroin on a large scale. As a result of the work done by our criminal lawyers C was the only defendant to be granted bail during the proceedings, and the only person to be acquitted of all charges.
C and others were accused of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. C was a meat wholesaler who, the prosecution alleged, allowed his premises to be used to store heroin prior to it being moved out for sale.
The case against the defendants was so serious that they all had Queens Counsel and junior counsel representing them.
C was initially remanded in custody along with the other defendants but our criminal solicitors successfully applied for bail to have him released pending trial.
The trial in this complex matter lasted months, and involved many hours work on C’s behalf. As a result of the work done by David Phillips and Partners criminal defence lawyers C was acquitted of all charges.
