At Tecmark, we’re thrilled to have completed “Numberstore,” an iPhone application we developed for: Zimo Communications Ltd. “Numberstore” lets iPhone users dial freephone 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers from their phones without incurring the additional charges that mobile operators apply.
Freephone numbers are, as you’d expect, free when dialled from landlines. But when dialled from a mobile, the user incurs an extra charge even if they have remaining bundled minutes. That’s pretty annoying, to say the least!
But Zimo Communications came up with an incredible concept to solve this and approached Tecmark to turn it into an app. Developers at Tecmark then set about developing Numberstore” using the existing Zimo Technology. When the app is launched, the user is presented with a familiar keypad. They simply enter their freephone number and dial. The app then fetches a standard geographical number from Zimo’s database and the iPhone uses this number instead of the freephone one. This means that calls are included within bundled minutes or, for those without allowances, are charged at the standard geographic rate.
The app is simple to use and will work with 0800, 0500 and 0808 numbers. Even better than that, it’s free!
