Tecmark Offers Online Reputation Management

Posted on January 20th, 2010 in News.

At Tecmark, we’re pleased to announce the continued expansion of our services with Online Reputation Management.

While public relations has traditionally seen to it that the positive reputation of a business is upheld offline, there is a growing importance to apply some of the same concepts digitally. Around 80% of consumers research a potential purchase online before buying, irrespective of whether they will go ahead to make this purchase on or offline. The Internet has seen to it that consumers have a wealth of information at their fingertips and researching companies from whom they may be considering making a purchase is easier than ever before.

Such research often starts with a search for the company name in a major search engine, such as Google. While the listings will often return the company’s own website first, the results underneath that could be anything. They may be blogs or forums on which members of the public or former employees have discussed the company. Blogs and forums are an open platform on which anyone can say pretty much anything about any business and anybody else can read that information freely.

Through its online reputation management services, Tecmark can assist businesses in taking control of what is visible about their company online, in dealing with any ‘negative online press’ and building up a positive profile on the Internet.

Tecmark Completes iPhone Application for Zimo Communications

Posted on January 18th, 2010 in News.

Tecmark is pleased to announce the release of Numberstore, an iPhone application developed for Zimo Communications Ltd that will allow iPhone users to use their available bundled minutes to dial freephone 0800 numbers and avoid the exuberant additional charges applied by the mobile operators.

While 0800 numbers are free to dial from landlines, it continues to remain the case that when dialled from a mobile phone, frustratingly the user is charged an excess, even if they have an allowance of bundled minutes. Zimo Communications came up with a concept that offers a solution to this frustration and approached Tecmark to turn the idea into an iPhone app. Tecmark developers then used existing Zimo technology to develop Numberstore for the iPhone. When a user launches the app and dials a freephone 0800 number, the application, fetches a standard UK telephone number from Zimo’s Numberstore database. The iPhone then uses this standard UK number instead of the freephone number, meaning that the call counts as a standard geographic rate call. For iPhone users who have remaining minutes in their monthly bundle the call is inclusive and even if the user is outside their monthly allowance they will only pay for a standard geographic rate call rather than the exuberant charge that all the mobile operators levy for dialling 0800 numbers. The app is easy to use and works with 0800, 0500 and 0808 freephone numbers.

The team at Tecmark is delighted to have completed the project for Zimo Communications, whose excellent concept is now a fully functional and incredibly useful application. iPhone users can start to benefit from Numberstore immediately, as the application is available right now for free download from the Apple App Store.

You can download Numberstore from here.
